The 2019 RDX debuts a series of new Acura-exclusive features and technologies headlined by the True Touchpad Interface – combining the best elements of a touchscreen with those of a remote-based interface. 2019 Acura RDX

The all-new RDX is the first in a new generation of products developed from the ground up around Acura's Precision Crafted Performance brand direction. Since its June 2018 introduction, the RDX has set a blistering sales pace, posting five consecutive record months and cementing its position as the retail best-selling model in the compact luxury SUV segment, now the largest product segment in luxury automobiles.

The 2019 RDX is built on an all-new, Acura-exclusive body and chassis architecture and incorporates a host of new premium features and technologies, including Acura's True Touchpad Interface, an ultra-wide panoramic Moonroof, an available Acura ELS Studio 3D™ premium audio system, and next-generation Acura sport seats with up to 16-way power adjustment.

The third-generation RDX is the quickest and best-handling RDX yet. Power comes from a direct-injected and turbocharged 2.0-liter, mated to the segment's only 10-speed automatic transmission (10AT). Peak output of 272 horsepower (SAE net) and 280 lb.-ft. of torque (SAE net) bests RDX's key competitors. With available Super Handling All-Wheel Drive™ (SH-AWD®), the RDX is capable of distributing up to 70-percent of torque to the rear wheels and up to 100-percent of that torque to either the right-rear or left-rear wheel, creating incredible control and agility.

Rivian Launches World's First Electric Adventure Vehicles with Debut Of R1T Pickup




Rivian, an electric vehicle manufacturer, has released information about the first of its two Electric Adventure Vehicles™ the R1T™, an all-electric, 5-passenger pickup. The automaker will introduce its fully electric SUV – the R1S™ along with the R1T to the public on Nov. 27, at AutoMobility LA.





The highly anticipated truck features a range of up to 400+ miles, a wading depth of 1 meter, and the performance and precise control of quad-motor AWD and has been developed to help customers get out and explore the world. The R1T and R1S will be produced at Rivian's manufacturing plant in Normal Il, from late 2020.

Skateboard Platform

The foundation of the R1T and R1S is Rivian's skateboard platform, which efficiently packages the battery pack, drive units, suspension, braking and thermal system all below the height of the wheel, leaving the space above for occupants and their gear.

Beyond the packaging benefits, this architecture delivers a low center of gravity that supports the vehicle's agility and stability. Adding to these inertial advantages is a sophisticated suspension architecture with unequal length double wishbone suspension in the front and a multi-link suspension in the rear. The suspension features dynamic roll control and adaptive dampers along with ride-height adjustable air-suspension – allowing the suspension to be adjusted for highway comfort, on-road performance or off-road capability.

Rivian's vehicles also feature a quad-motor system that delivers 147kW with precise torque control to each wheel, enabling active torque vectoring and maximum performance in every situation, from high-speed cornering to low-speed rock crawling. With 3,500 Nm of grounded torque per wheel (14,000 Nm of torque for the full vehicle), the R1T can reach 60 mph in 3 seconds and 100 mph in less than 7 seconds. This powertrain and chassis also enable the R1T's tow rating of 11,000 pounds.

Design


Exterior

Rivian's vehicles have been designed to communicate strength and refinement while still inviting customers to get them dirty. Strong proportions and clean, continuous bodylines help the vehicles achieve a modern, inviting stance while acknowledging the performance and level of technology integrated into the vehicle.

The main bodyline of the R1T wraps up and around the cab and gives the vehicle a distinctive silhouette, while highlighting the Gear Tunnel™ cutline and accentuating the rear fender flares. The R1T features short overhangs, high ground clearance and aggressive approach and departure angles for a confident and rugged stance, all enabled by Rivian's unique skateboard platform. A Rivian will be quickly recognized, with its iconic, signature "stadium" headlights and a daytime running light that extends the entire width of the vehicle.


Interior

In harmony with the exterior, the interior of Rivian's vehicles welcomes occupants into a premium environment that conveys craftsmanship yet invites rugged, daily use. Color and materials play an important role in differentiating Rivian vehicles. Sustainably sourced wood is used throughout the interior and its natural finish contributes to a warm and inviting feel. The most striking use of wood is as a structural element in the dash that integrates the main center display and driver cluster, integrating form and function beautifully. In the high-wear areas of the interior, the materials take inspiration from sportswear and active gear, combining durable and innovative materials that can easily be cleaned.

"Although the exterior of the vehicle is what first attracts you, the interior is where you spend the most of your time, so we really focused on creating a transformational space," said VP of Vehicle Design Jeff Hammoud. "The biggest challenge was creating an interior design that delivered a premium experience, while still being comfortable as a space that is heavily used. To do this, we looked outside the automotive industry and took inspiration from contemporary furniture, as well as hiking and outdoor gear, to drive the design."

Utility

The R1T leverages the vehicle architecture to deliver more lockable storage than any other pickup in the world. The 330-liter front trunk is easily accessed for daily use with the hood fully powered for opening and closing.

The R1T's lockable Gear Tunnel sits below the cab, and extends across the width of the vehicle, providing more than 350 liters of space for hauling oversized gear, such as snowboards, golf bags or strollers. The Gear Tunnel doors also act as steps for loading items into the bed or onto the roof, as well as a seat and a convenience platform for such as lacing up hiking boots. The R1T has a watertight, integrated tonneau cover and beneath the bed floor is a 200-liter sealed bin that can also be used to store a full-size spare tire. The bed features three 110-volt outlets and integrated compressed air.

As part of a Gear Guard™ feature, the bed also has two integrated locking cables to safely secure bicycle frames and other gear to the bed. Any gear stored in the bed is monitored by a bed camera and the system alerts owners should the bed or contents be tampered with.

Rivian has developed a telescoping racking system with easy-to-use mounts that quickly attach to the roof as well as the bed rails and bed floor. The racks integrate with a range of accessories including tents, travel containers and bike/ski racks. When not in use, the racks can be easily stored in the front trunk.


Battery System

Rivian's energy-dense battery module and pack were developed with the most demanding journeys in mind — incorporating tough underbody protection and an advanced cooling system to give occupants the confidence to go further, regardless of terrain or temperature. Adaptive control algorithms learn driver behavior, optimizing user-specific battery management for maximizing battery life, reliability and second-life reusability. Three battery sizes are planned, with the 180 kWh and 135 kWh available at launch and a 105 kWh being made available within six months.

The battery is designed for fast charging with charging rates of up to 160kW. This enables approximately 200 miles of range to be added in 30 minutes of charging. In addition to DC fast-charging, an 11kW onboard charger facilitates rapid charging at a Level 2 charger.


Connectivity and Digital Experience

Rivian has developed its connected car platform from a clean sheet to allow full control and flexibility over the vehicle hardware, software and user experience. The system operates on a high-speed Ethernet backbone that enables robust security. This platform supports granular over-the-air updates of vehicle software to enhance functionality and improve performance. All Rivian vehicles connect to a cloud-ecosystem for data exchange and processing, enabling machine learning and data services. The digital experience extends beyond the vehicle into the cloud ecosystem and mobile/web applications and provides a consistent and seamless interface for vehicle status and control. The in-vehicle experience consists of a custom 15.6-inch center touch screen, 12.3-inch instrument cluster and a 6.8-inch rear touch screen. Understanding its customers desire for connected adventure, Rivian developed maps, music, navigation and other adventure-focused features to complete the digital experience. The digital user interface strongly reflects adventure, outdoors and exploration – the experience is immersive and natural whether it's being used in a connected urban setting or well off the beaten path.


Self-Driving

The R1T will launch with a robust hardware suite with multiple modalities including camera, lidar, radar, ultrasonic and a high precision GPS coupled with high definition maps. This hardware enables "Level 3" (hands-off wheel and eyes off road) autonomy for highway operation. Beyond the highway Level 3, the vehicle will have a range of self-driving features focused on enabling active lifestyles.


Safety
Rivian's safety systems and body-structure design will deliver IIHS Top Safety Pick Plus and NHTSA 5-Star ratings. Safety features include 8 airbags for occupant protection and reinforcements of the skateboard platform to protect the battery. The R1T and R1S will also be offered with a full complement of active safety systems enabled by Rivian's suite of self-driving sensors.

SF Motors Secures Patent for Intelligent Parking Technology



SF Motors, a global electric vehicle company founded in California in 2016, today announced it received issued patent by the United States Patent and Trademark Office with Patent No. 10,106,153 on October 23, 2018 covering the design and methodology for fully autonomous parking. When deployed in consumer products, this technology will allow vehicles to self-park safely and accurately in complex parking zones without operator intervention.

"Advancements in autonomous driving technologies are moving quickly, but fundamental user experiences such as autonomous parking have not yet received necessary attention," said John Zhang, founder and CEO of SF Motors. "This patent represents our technological advancement towards making the autonomous parking experience more convenient, effective, and reliable."

The patent covers an advanced system architecture and a machine learning-based path generation method for fully autonomous parking. This method involves the fusion of multiple types of sensors, such as camera and LiDAR, for reliable operation in complex parking situations. This autonomous parking technology is part of SF Motors' larger vision of offering intelligent electric vehicles focused on safety, reliability and convenience.

Powered by an all-new, fuel-efficient turbocharged engine and wrapped in head-turning Italian design, the new 2019 Fiat 500X will debut at the 2018 Los Angeles Auto Show.

The 2019 Fiat 500X features an all-new, standard-equipped 1.3-liter turbocharged engine with the latest iteration of the FCA exclusive MultiAir (called MultiAir III) valve-actuation technology, engine stop-start (ESS) technology and best-in-class torque. Also standard are a nine-speed automatic transmission and an all-wheel-drive system with a disconnecting rear axle that contributes to improved fuel efficiency.

In addition to new front and rear fascia designs, the new small FIAT crossover will offer nearly 70 safety and security features that will now include Adaptive Cruise Control and Front Park Assist.

All-new 1.3-liter direct-injection turbocharged four-cylinder engine promises fun and improved fuel efficiency
Power in the 2019 Fiat 500X comes from an all-new, standard-equipment 1.3-liter direct-injection four-cylinder turbocharged engine featuring a 70 mm bore and 86.5 mm stroke for a total displacement of 1,332 cc. Engine performance includes 177 horsepower and a best-in-class peak torque rating of 210 lb.-ft.

The all-new engine's attributes are not limited to the realm of performance. The engine benefits from the latest iteration of an FCA-exclusive third-generation MultiAir valve-actuation technology, which further optimizes combustion efficiency through its unique control of intake-valve opening and timing.

MultiAir III accommodates low-load efficiency through advance opening of the intake valves, which enables exhaust-gas recycling. When the driver demands more power, MultiAir III reduces compression ratios by delaying valve closure, which contributes to improved fuel efficiency while also controlling knock.

Additional features of the all-new 1.3-liter inline-four, a key member of a global engine family includes:
ESS technology, further benefiting fuel efficiency and contributing to emissions reduction

Nine-speed transmission

The Fiat 500X's nine-speed automatic transmission provides a more responsive driving experience with quicker acceleration and smoother shifting.

For improved driving comfort and refinement, the transmission control system closely monitors temperature, speed and electronic stability control (ESC) activation. More than 20 individual shift maps for specific conditions optimize shift quality and shift points for improved fuel efficiency, performance and drivability. The result is automatic shifting ideally tuned to the performance requirements of almost any driving demand.

The fully electronic nine-speed automatic also features on-the-fly shift-map changing with Auto Stick manual-shift capability.

A unique set of four overdrive ratios improve highway fuel efficiency and reduce overall NVH levels.


Engaging driving dynamics

The 2019 Fiat 500X features engaging driving dynamics with superior ride and handling. A tuned electric power steering (EPS) system provides enhanced handling and improved fuel efficiency, while superior torsional rigidity and NVH applications deliver an exceptionally quiet cabin.

An extensive use of high-strength steel reinforces the vehicle's dynamics and crashworthiness, while optimizing weight for maximum fuel efficiency. The independent front MacPherson strut suspension features lightweight, optimally sized components for nimble dynamics and quiet performance. The isolated rear cradle provides a quieter and smoother ride.

The 2019 Fiat 500X also features Koni frequency selective damping (FSD) front strut and rear shock absorbers to deliver improved road-holding and handling characteristics. In addition, the Koni FSD system actively filters out high-frequency suspension inputs from uneven road surfaces and adjusts for comfort and smoothness while maintaining excellent ride control.

Now standard, the all-wheel-drive system uses a disconnecting rear axle to improve fuel efficiency by reducing parasitic loss when all-wheel drive is not needed.


Dynamic Selector System

The Fiat Dynamic Selector System offers three customized modes for optimal driving performance. The driver can select the most suitable vehicle configuration for different driving conditions:
Auto: The basic mode calibrated for everyday driving and designed to ensure optimal fuel efficiency, low emissions and driving comfort. This is achieved with a smoother engine calibration, higher assistance on steering and a shift point optimized for low carbon dioxide emissions
Sport: The engine calibration converts for a sportier feel and is tuned for a faster driving response through ESC and steering adjustments. With all-wheel drive, this mode optimizes the driveline calibration for lateral dynamics
Traction +: A specifically calibrated mode maximizes low-speed traction with low friction and off-road surfaces by providing additional wheel slip through specially tuned chassis controls and a more direct engine response


Iconic Italian design


Exterior

The Fiat 500X leverages the iconic Cinquecento's DNA to deliver classic Italian style and additional ground clearance with 17- or 18-inch wheels.

The 2019 Fiat 500X has a refreshed exterior with new front and rear fascia designs, available LED daytime running lights and LED tail lamps.

New available headlamps with LED technology complements the unmistakable Fiat 500 style and provides 20 percent greater lighting capability compared with the previous model. Visibility is considerably improved and consumes five times less energy than traditional halogen lights.

New LED headlamps also cover a wider vision area: at a speed of up to 56 miles per hour (mph), obstacles are spotted up to 4 seconds sooner – nearly 330 feet prior than with the standard halogen units.

Additional new key design features for the vehicle include a stylish, high-tech LED signature strip around the front light module, providing the front of the new 500X a clear and distinctive visual identity. In addition, new rear LED tail lamps add a signature element that stands out on the road and increases visibility and safety.

The Fiat 500X's dual-pane sunroof (available on all model configurations) offers a power-sliding panoramic roof, with side glass panels that match with the body-side sheet metal for an open and spacious effect.

For 2019, three new exterior paint colors (Italia Blue, Vibrante Green and Milano Ivory Tri-coat) complement its wide variety of 12 available paint color options.

Consumers also have three all-new wheel options, including a 17-inch silver aluminum wheel on Trekking models, 17-inch matte black machined wheel on Trekking Plus models plus an 18-inch matte anthracite machined aluminum wheel for Trekking and Trekking Plus models.


Interior

The 2019 Fiat 500X adds a refreshed cockpit that includes new premium cloth seating fabrics that provide unmistakable Italian style, additional space and utility plus comfortable seating for five.

A new instrument cluster is featured with easy-to-read graphics and maintains its arrangement into three stylish circular elements providing the perfect blend of vintage looks and modern technology. Two analogue dials with a speedometer and tachometers are arranged on the sides, while the 3.5-inch reconfigurable thin-film transistor (TFT) display in the middle provides key information to the driver in a simple and straightforward manner.

A new steering wheel is contoured to ensure better positioning of the driver's hands for perfect grip. The wheel features premium Techno-leather upholstery, as well as mounted radio controls to ensure safe driving at all times. The ergonomic passenger compartment also contributes to a comfortable and relaxed experience with easy-to-reach controls, gear-shift position and convenient front armrest.


Safety and security

The Fiat 500X offers nearly 70 available safety and security features, including new available Adaptive Cruise Control and Front Park Assist for added passenger convenience and protection.

Adaptive Cruise Control can be activated for automatic reduction of the set speed when the vehicle is approaching the vehicle ahead in the same lane, or when another vehicle moves into the same lane. Adaptive Cruise Control returns to the set speed when the vehicle in front accelerates or moves to another lane. It also keeps the car at the distance from the vehicle ahead set by the driver. It operates from a speed of 19 mph. With Front Park Assist, at low speeds ultrasonic sensors in the bumper detect stationary objects. If the system detects a collision is imminent, it sounds an audio warning and automatically triggers a brief brake pulse.

The Fiat 500X is supplemented with both active and passive safety and security features, including Blind-spot Monitoring, Rear Cross Path detection, ParkView rear backup camera with dynamic grid lines, ESC with electronic roll mitigation and seven standard air bags.


Fourth-generation Uconnect systems

The 2019 Fiat 500X offers advanced technology, including standard Uconnect 4 with 7-inch touchscreen radio with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto; available navigation; Bluetooth hands-free calling, voice command and streaming audio; and available SiriusXM Radio. The available BeatsAudio premium sound system includes eight speakers and a subwoofer for studio-quality sound.

Model lineup

The new 2019 Fiat 500X is available in three model configurations: Pop, Trekking and Trekking Plus.

Pop
Starting at $25,785, the Fiat 500X Pop includes an abundance of content at a significant value. Standard features include the all-new 1.3-liter turbocharged engine producing 177 horsepower and 210 lb.-ft. of best-in-class torque with ESS technology mated to a nine-speed automatic transmission. Drivers will be able to conquer multiple road surfaces and conditions with standard all-wheel-drive capability and the Dynamic Selector System optimal for the appropriate drive settings. Hill-start Assist and Electronic Roll Mitigation technology instill driving confidence within a range of conditions and scenarios that drivers may incur.

Classic Italian style is complemented with 17-inch silver aluminum wheels and chrome exterior accents, projector headlamps and new LED daytime running lamps and tail lamps, plus power and heated mirrors with turn signals.

Inside, new cloth seats and fold-flat front passenger seats add comfort plus 60/40 split folding rear seats that increase cargo capacity. A new leatherette steering wheel and gear-shift knob add a premium appearance with a tilt-and-telescoping steering column for ergonomic comfort.

The new 2019 Fiat 500X Pop receives the latest Uconnect system along with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity, which include easy-to-use features, enhanced processing power, faster start-up times on a 7-inch touchscreen that displays high-resolution graphics.

Six-speaker audio provides amplified sound quality and dual USB ports in the front and rear center consoles, plus charging and data upload functionality that enables drivers and passengers to enjoy their favorite multi-media content.

Additional standard safety and technology features include a security system, speed control, tire-inflator kit, remote start and ParkView rear backup camera.


Trekking

Starting at $27,290, the Fiat 500X Trekking builds on the Pop model and adds a rugged front fascia with black grille and metallic surround, as well as a rear fascia that includes a metallic appearance. Deep tint sunscreen glass adds to the aggressive look plus automatic headlamps and cornering front fog lamps provide improved visibility.

Adding to Trekking's adventurous look are metallic door handles and a 17-inch silver aluminum wheel.

Trekking interior features include front and rear premium quilted cloth seats, leatherette door-trim inserts and a multi-position cargo shelf panel for storage convenience. A 3.5-inch color TFT cluster screen provides easy navigation for vehicle information and settings.

Trekking customers also can enjoy a free 12-month trial subscription to SiriusXM Radio.


Trekking Plus

At the top of the 500X lineup is the new Trekking Plus model. Starting at $30,490, it adds additional premium Trekking content and style that includes 17-inch matte black machined aluminum wheels, chrome daylight opening (DLO) molding and LED projector headlamps.

Inside, Trekking Plus models include eight-way, heated and leather power seats with four-way lumbar support. A blushed console and door-trim accents further highlight the refined and premium cabin. Cargo storage also is enhanced with driver seat-back pockets and is protected with a rear cargo compartment cover. Interior visibility also is enhanced from overhead ambient lighting and door courtesy lamps illuminating side panels and cargo spaces.

Trekking Plus models receive the latest generation Uconnect 4 infotainment system with 7-inch touch screen and navigation radio that offer turn-by-turn navigation directions with outstanding sound from the eight-speaker audio system.

Trekking Plus drivers and passengers will enjoy peace of mind and comfort from the latest advanced safety and technology features, including ParkSense Front and Rear Park Assist along with climate-controlled dual-zone Automatic Temperature Control (ATC) and an automatic windshield defroster. An electrochromic rearview mirror offers automatic dimming capability for daylight/twilight driving.

NASA InSight Lander Arrives on Martian Surface to Learn What Lies Beneath



Mars has just received its newest robotic resident. NASA's Interior Exploration using Seismic Investigations, Geodesy and Heat Transport (InSight) lander successfully touched down on the Red Planet after an almost seven-month, 300-million-mile (458-million-kilometer) journey from Earth.

InSight's two-year mission will be to study the deep interior of Mars to learn how all celestial bodies with rocky surfaces, including Earth and the Moon, formed.

InSight launched from Vandenberg Air Force Base in California May 5. The lander touched down Monday, Nov. 26, near Mars' equator on the western side of a flat, smooth expanse of lava called Elysium Planitia, with a signal affirming a completed landing sequence at approximately noon PST (3 p.m. EST).

"Today, we successfully landed on Mars for the eighth time in human history," said NASA Administrator Jim Bridenstine. "InSight will study the interior of Mars, and will teach us valuable science as we prepare to send astronauts to the Moon and later to Mars. This accomplishment represents the ingenuity of America and our international partners and it serves as a testament to the dedication and perseverance of our team. The best of NASA is yet to come, and it is coming soon."

The landing signal was relayed to NASA's Jet Propulsion Laboratory (JPL) in Pasadena, California, via one of NASA's two small experimental Mars Cube One (MarCO) CubeSats, which launched on the same rocket as InSight and followed the lander to Mars. They are the first CubeSats sent into deep space. After successfully carrying out a number of communications and in-flight navigation experiments, the twin MarCOs were set in position to receive transmissions during InSight's entry, descent and landing.


From Fast to Slow

"We hit the Martian atmosphere at 12,300 mph (19,800 kilometers per hour), and the whole sequence to touching down on the surface took only six-and-a-half minutes," said InSight project manager Tom Hoffman at JPL. "During that short span of time, InSight had to autonomously perform dozens of operations and do them flawlessly — and by all indications that is exactly what our spacecraft did."

Confirmation of a successful touchdown is not the end of the challenges of landing on the Red Planet. InSight's surface-operations phase began a minute after touchdown. One of its first tasks is to deploy its two decagonal solar arrays, which will provide power. That process begins 16 minutes after landing and takes another 16 minutes to complete.

The InSight team expects a confirmation later Monday that the spacecraft's solar panels successfully deployed. Verification will come from NASA's Odyssey spacecraft, currently orbiting Mars. That signal is expected to reach InSight's mission control at JPL about five-and-a-half hours after landing.

"We are solar powered, so getting the arrays out and operating is a big deal," said Hoffman. "With the arrays providing the energy we need to start the cool science operations, we are well on our way to thoroughly investigate what's inside of Mars for the very first time."

InSight will begin to collect science data within the first week after landing, though the teams will focus mainly on preparing to set InSight's instruments on the Martian ground. At least two days after touchdown, the engineering team will begin to deploy InSight's 5.9-foot-long (1.8-meter-long) robotic arm so that it can take images of the landscape.

"Landing was thrilling, but I'm looking forward to the drilling," said InSight principal investigator Bruce Banerdt of JPL. "When the first images come down, our engineering and science teams will hit the ground running, beginning to plan where to deploy our science instruments. Within two or three months, the arm will deploy the mission's main science instruments, the Seismic Experiment for Interior Structure (SEIS) and Heat Flow and Physical Properties Package (HP3) instruments."

InSight will operate on the surface for one Martian year, plus 40 Martian days, or sols, until Nov. 24, 2020. The mission objectives of the two small MarCOs which relayed InSight's telemetry was completed after their Martian flyby.

"That's one giant leap for our intrepid, briefcase-sized robotic explorers," said Joel Krajewski, MarCO project manager at JPL. "I think CubeSats have a big future beyond Earth's orbit, and the MarCO team is happy to trailblaze the way."

With InSight's landing at Elysium Planitia, NASA has successfully soft-landed a vehicle on the Red Planet eight times.

"Every Mars landing is daunting, but now with InSight safely on the surface we get to do a unique kind of science on Mars," said JPL director Michael Watkins. "The experimental MarCO CubeSats have also opened a new door to smaller planetary spacecraft. The success of these two unique missions is a tribute to the hundreds of talented engineers and scientists who put their genius and labor into making this a great day."

JPL manages InSight for NASA's Science Mission Directorate. InSight is part of NASA's Discovery Program, managed by the agency's Marshall Space Flight Center in Huntsville, Alabama. The MarCO CubeSats were built and managed by JPL. Lockheed Martin Space in Denver built the InSight spacecraft, including its cruise stage and lander, and supports spacecraft operations for the mission.

A number of European partners, including France's Centre National d'√Čtudes Spatiales (CNES) and the German Aerospace Center (DLR), are supporting the InSight mission. CNES, and the Institut de Physique du Globe de Paris(IPGP), provided the SEIS instrument, with significant contributions from the Max Planck Institute for Solar System Research (MPS) in Germany, the Swiss Institute of Technology (ETH) in Switzerland, Imperial College and Oxford University in the United Kingdom, and JPL. DLR provided the HP3 instrument, with significant contributions from the Space Research Center (CBK) of the Polish Academy of Sciences and Astronika in Poland. Spain's Centro de Astrobiolog√≠a (CAB) supplied the wind sensors.
